Miranda update

COURT 28

At  half past 10
Applications for Permission
CO/11732/2013 The Queen on the application of Miranda v Secretary Of State Home Office

This is the official announcement of tomorrows hearing in the case of David Miranda. Carl Gardner has more on the legal specifics, and he seems to thing there is plenty of evidence for the case to turn in Miranda’s direction. Good. Journalism is not terrorism (nor is it espionage).

A couple of the Libertarian Home regulars, Gary and Nico, have been talking about turning up at the court, and I certainly wanted to. Having scouted around for numbers I get the distinct impression we are in a minority, understandable on a work day, but still a shame.

I will be speaking on Thursday, in part, about ways of mobilising people for this sort of thing, and much more, but for now there will be no official action. Not that this should stop you!
