Happy Birthday Communism?

Stossel makes plain the story of Communism. The story inked in blood and filth for 100 years. Find out what happened when one young communist true-believer ran out of rats.

Marxists have two lines of defence – firstly that the Soviet Union, Mao’s China, Pol Pot’s Cambodia (and so on) did not really murder millions of people. This defence is just blatant lying – because these regimes did murder millions of people and the people who deny it know they did. There is no point in arguing with such people.

The other line of defence is to admit that these regimes slaughtered millions of people – but to deny that they were really Marxist. This is a more subtle argument – best refuted by Ludwig Von Mises in such works as “Socialism” and “Human Action”.

Very interesting video, Simon: Thanks. Everyone should see this. Especially schoolchildren!

Speaking of which, video from Lily Tang Williams, immigrant from Communist China (as above in “Stossel” ) and libertarian activist. “Common Core is the Communist Core I Went Through in China” warns Americans about the core of “Common Core,” which is not only political indoctrination, but its emphasis on collecting all possible information about students, including their parents’ political and other beliefs.

At the UT (U-Toob, YouTube) site there are more videos in the sidebar on the data-mining operations of Common Core.

I think that everyone should see this 8-minute video. It’s not only Americans who are under the threat of this sort of “education.” As a matter of fact, way back in the ’80s the BBC produced the 16 episodes of the drama 1990, in which Common-Core tactics were well on display in the imaginary British dystopia to come. (A chilling and excellent series, by the way. I think it’s still available on UT. Well worth seeing. Episodes are an hour each. Thanks to Paul for pointing it out to me.)

1990, Ep. 1, with the rest of the series linked in the sidebar:

NOTE. You can download YouTube videos by using the UT URL but substituting ‘ hook ‘ for ‘ you ‘. This is a freebie put together by hooktube.com. I have been using it successfully for the last 6 months or so. H/T to “John Galt” at Samizdata.

I am always a good source of evil tidings.

As for Western education – sadly it was dominated by Marxist doctrines long before (the vile) “Common Core”.

And in higher education there is the Frankfurt School “Critical Theory”.

Correction: 1990 was broadcast in 1977-1978.
