The laws against prostitution force prostitutes into the hands of pimps (the idea of the “nonexploitive” pimp shows just how ignorant these judges are).
Law should be about punshing aggression – not enforcing morality.
However, I am deeply dubious about a group of judges having such powers.
The may have a ruled in a semilibertarian way this time – but what about next time?
Democracy (wildly imperfect though it is) at least allows people (if enough of them vote) to “kick out” a government.
How does one kick out unelected judges?
The New Zealand situation (legalization by Parliament) is one thing – but this legalization by unelected (unaccountable) judges, is quite another.
