Give BB&T Liberty, but Not a Bailout – New York Times

  1. I got as far as page two.

Alan Greenspan did not just peacefully leave Objectivism – Ayn Rand shoved a dinner plate in his face.

Nor is “misregulation” …. I do not even know that this means.

The financial crises was caused by government supported expansion of the money supply (see Thomas Woods – “Meltdown”) which was fed (again in line with government policy) into the housing market (see Thomas Sowell – “Housing: Boom and Bust”).

But one is not likely to read that in the New York Times.

Reading anything in the NYT (even about an interesting banker) makes my skin crawl – their patronising house style sees to that.

      1. Sadly most of the readers do not.

What the NYT does (in twisting things) does not work on everyone – but it works on a lot of people.

Or they would not have been doing it since (at least) the 1930s.

      2. Although, yes, I have now read page three and page four (and they are better).

Middle aged man sickness – getting more quick to anger (partly because everything seems harder to do – and one has less energy to do it).

But the Randians (correctly) would reply “so you must try harder”.
