Fan website ronpaul.com endorses Donald Trump

Tim Martin, Esther Anderson, and Jeff Hale, founders of the fan website “ronpaul.com”, a top 100,000 website in the US, have come out in favour of Donald Trump. Their announcement cites several policies where Ron Paul and Donald Trump agree, such as auditing the federal reserve.

The statement clarifies that “Ron Paul has not endorsed Donald Trump”.

  1. I wish I could say I was surprised by their endorsement of the corrupt Big Government Peronist Donald Trump – but I am not (as I always had my fears about these people).

The Donald Trump campaign has one good aspect – it exposes some “conservatives” (and even some “libertarians”) as phonies.

As for the Federal Reserve – no doubt like Juan Peron, Mr Trump would just print money (so no need for the Fed).

For people who think this is a good idea – “out of the frying pan into the fire” to you.

  2. Yes, Paul. He surely knows how to bedazzle the audience though, give him that.

Come to think of it, I guess Lady GaGa does too. :>)

Ann Coulter has supported Trump from the first, because in her opinion the most important issue is to stop the tide of imported (illegal) immigrant voters coming in from Mexico, whose votes will insure the Dems run America until the Universe shuts down. I do think she has a point there. And she’s sure that Trump is the only one who can defeat the Dem candidate in November, because he appears to be so riled up about the illegals (but he was for amnesty before he was against it, IIRC) and other issues that many Republicans don’t see as being addressed properly under the Dems; plus (dunno if she’s mentioned it, but she probably has), he’s the only one who might be able to seduce a healthy number of Democratic or Democratic-leaning voters from their usual ballot column.

I visited the R.P. fan site (not a favorite spot of mine), and among other things I saw the allegation I’ve seen a lot since last summer or whenever “Trump is the only one against amnesty” shouting started.

One of the commenters, however, posted several links to several sites where Cruz, in interviews, says the contrary. Here’s one quote, from Right Wing News, Feb. 11, 2011, from an interview with him by Smart Girl News at CPAC 2011. At the time, he was Solicitor General for the State of Texas, and running against David Dewhurst for the Senate seat vacated by Kay Bailey Hutchinson.

    SGN:

How do we walk that fine line between reaching out to Hispanic Americans, but also fighting against illegal immigration and for border control? They are two separate issues, but the other side is always painting us as anti immigrant. How do we do a better job of fighting that?

    Ted Cruz:

There is no doubt that the Democrats and the media love to paint the Republicans as anti immigrant. On the question of illegal immigration I think we should stand firm and stand tall. I am strongly opposed to illegal immigration. I come to it from the perspective as someone who has been in law enforcement most of my adult life. I think particularly in a post 9-11 world we have to enforce the border. It makes no sense that we don’t know who is crossing our border. We don’t know their background. We don’t know their criminal history. Any nation as a matter of national sovereignty secures its border. At the same time we cannot allow our vigilance in securing the border to be used to paint us as anti immigrant. As strongly as we stand against illegal immigration, legal immigration is something completely different.

I must say I agree with all that.

  3. Trump could go either way, but at least he’s something different, and he comes across as a real person, rather than a second-tier actor.
