The LSE invites us to a “debate” entitled “Keynes vs Hayek”. No boxers or rappers are mentioned this time but “BBC Radio 4 will be recording [the] debate between modern day followers of Keynes and Hayek.”
The “debate” takes place on Tuesday 26 July 2011 and features Robert Skidelsky, Emeritus Professor of Political Economy at the University of Warwick in Keynes’ corner. He is author of a three volume biography on Keynes and has won many awards. Referee is a representative of that fine example of impartiality, the BBC. Paul Mason is economics editor of BBC 2’s Newsnight (and author of “Meltdown: The End of the Age of Greed”).
Why the sneer quotes? Because it appears that in Hayek’s corner they have found…. well, nobody yet.
