I love the BBC idea that this political party is “moderate”.
Greek politics is demented (even more so than the politics of most countries).
For example, most people (for some weird reason) want to stay in the Euro – yet also reject the conditions set to stay in the Euro.
“They want to have the cake – and to eat the cake” does not cover the full level of mental confusion these people have.
Various lies are doing the rounds…
“The Greek crises was caused by bank bailouts” – a blatent lie.
And.
“The Greek crises was caused by high military spending” – Greek miliary spending was higher (as a percentage of GDP – not per person) than in most European countries, but that is because the armed forces of most European nations hardly exist any more.
And Greek defence spending has been radically CUT (not increased) in recent years.
It is the Greek WELFARE STATE (only created a few decades ago) that has proved an economic and social (even a demographic) catastrophe.
Yet most people will not admit the obvious – because the Welfare State is sacred.
Just as the 1978 Constitution (the “Christmas Tree of rights – rights as in benefits” constitution) is sacred – although it has produced unemployment of 25% and will lead to total bankruptcy.
Large numbers of people are camping out in Spain to show their support for the Welfare State – the very thing that (along with the credit bubble financial system) that is destroying them.
Such is the power of “social justice”, “fair shares for all” ideology.
“So we should engage in conversation with these people – on the basis that we accept social justice and democratic citizenship”.
Oh the freaking fools.
In the days to come if you try and “engage in conversation” with the Social Justice supporters they will EAT you.
And I an not using a figure of speech.

Bankruptcy for Greece and bankruptcy for the UK unless it can be reversed.
The “Fabian Covenant” of welfarism, “free” education and healthcare, subsidy of housing, ponzi pensions etc was, is and will be dysfunctional.
