New York got the same anti-price-gouging rules as New Jersey after Tropical Storm Irene. Now, no commercial outfit wants to rush the place with tankers and residents are forming soviet style queues on alternate days outside filling stations. Disaster!
Ok I thought it was a little more complicated than that. I believe there is a brilliant quote from a Sheriff after Katrina mentioning Wal Mart’s response compared to FEMA’s.
People also clearly don’t regard waiting in a queue for several hours as a cost to society.
