Another event next week that might be of interest (though it clashes with the ASI’s talk by Detlev Schlichter):
The Institute of Economic Affairs is delighted to be hosting this special evening event where Mark Littlewood, Director General of the IEA, will quiz the Rt Hon David Laws MP face-to-face on issues ranging from the future of the Liberal Democrat Party, to the state of the British economy. He will also pose some of your questions.
Time: Tuesday 22 November, 6.30pm
Venue: IEA, 2 Lord North Street, Westminster, SW1P 3LB
David Laws was Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury in 2002. He was re-elected in 2005 with a much increased majority, and was Shadow Secretary of State for Work and Pensions. In 2007 he was Shadow Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families. He was Chief Secretary to the Treasury in 2010. He is currently a member of the Joint Committee on the Draft Financial Services Bill 2011.
If you would like to put a question around the topics of free markets and liberalism to David Laws, then please email it to: email@example.com. If your question is chosen, you will be able to pose it directly to David Laws on the night (and he will not be given the questions in advance).
RSVP (acceptances only) by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 020 7799 8900.
